Hello,

I am a reapplicant who will be applying to the 2022-2023 cycle.
I applied in the 2020-2021 cycle with the following stats:
-graduated from one of Ivy League schools in 2015
-ORM California resident
-4 MCAT scores:
1/2017 507
4/2017 506
6/2018 509
6/2020 514
-GPA: 3.48, 3.52 (sGPA)
-ECs:
3000+ hours nonmedical employment
2000+ hours biopsychology research (no paper)
a lot of leadership positions
5000+ hours of clinical experience (currently working in ophthalmology)
1000+ hours of tutor
3000+ hours of nonmedical volunteering
500+ medical volunteering (global health, local hospital)

school list:
MDs:
Albany Medical College
California Northstate University College of Medicine
California University of Science and Medicine
Rosalind Franklin
Creighton
Eastern Virginia Medical School
Quinnipiac
Georgetown
Indiana
Loma Linda
Loyola
Medical College of Wisconsin
New York Medical College
Ohio State
Vermont
Rush
Thomas Jefferson
Brown
Tufts
Tulane
Uniformed Services University
UC Davis
UC Irvine
UC Riverside
Colorado
Miami
Wake Forest
Wayne State
DOs:
Western
Lake Erie

I applied to 28 MD + 2 OD schools. Had 3 MD II (UCI, Loyola, and Wakeforest)
I am currently thinking about applying to research jobs because I have plenty of clinical hours. I have not taken courses since 2015. Should I take classes this fall/next spring? Should I take another MCAT for possible 3-4 points? I was aiming for 518 when I took it last year.
Any advice for me is appreciated.

Thank you

A DIY post bacc of undergraduate level science courses at a local college would be a good idea in order to raise your sGPA to 3.6 or higher.

Agreed, it looks like your extracurriculars are not where you're lacking in your application. Bringing up your GPA will help. However, the biggest issue is the 4 MCAT retakes. Averaged out, your MCAT is a 508 which makes quite a few schools on your list reaches.

Schools will want to make sure you’ve done something substantial between applications. PB will be helpful as that is what seems to be on the low side for you. Your MCATs are fine. Work on your interviews. Good luck. You can do this.

Apply to more DO programs. And take some science classes and get A's in them.
