After looking at my undergrad grades, I know that I will have to do a post bacc. program to bring my GPA up to a decent level. The problem is, I'm having trouble deciding between whether to do a formal post bacc. program like the one provided by Columbia University, or to just do something informal and take my remaining science prerequisites as well as upper level science courses at my local community college. My main concern is money or more specifically, the lack of money so I know that signing up for a formal post bacc. program would break me financially. I guess my main question would be, are there people out there that have been successful at getting into med. school without having taken the formal postbacc. route?
