Question about Match scenario

Ok, lets say program "A" has only 1 spot for the match. There are 2 people trying to get that spot, Applicant A & Applicant B. Now, let's say Applicant A is the #1 pick for program "A" & Applicant B is the #2 pick for program "A." Applicant A ranks program "A" #4 on his list and Applicant B ranks program "A" #1 on his list. Ok, now Applicant A does NOT get a match from his top 3 ranked programs, and the match now moves to his #4 spot (Program "A"). Who will get the spot??? Will Applicant B be bumped out of the spot b/c program "A" more desires Applicant A?

there is a sample match algorithm posted over different websites. it is true if that is for the last spot for the program applicant A will get the spot since program A desire applicant A more. But do not rank programs as to how they will rank you - rank programs according to your interests.

I will be applying for the match this year as well.

The answer is yes. Applicant A will get the spot.
