New to the forum but I have visited and read threads frequently. I am a first year student DPT currently taking a clinical medicine and pharmacology course.
A side note during one recent lecture mentioned that PT's in some states are performing pinprick blood d-dimer testing in rural home health care settings in order to rule out/in suspected DVT's. I am aware of the Well's criteria but I am wondering whether any practicing PT's had any experience in d-dimer testing and could discuss their thoughts on its utility? I am also wondering how pinprick blood testing fits into state PT practice acts as well? I am also an AT and would appreciate any AT's with knowledge on how d-dimer testing would fit into AT practice acts as well. I appreciate any info!
