Can a Psychiatrist perform cortisone injections after a pain management fellowship?

An anesthesiologist?
Or is it just the domain of Ortho and to a limited extent, Family Med?

Also,
Is getting into a Pain management fellowship extremely competitive in Psych?

Cortisone injections are done in primary care clinics (well the ones who want to spend the time to do them). You dont need a fellowship to do them. The reimburisement is negligable thus no one does them despite the fact that they work very well for short periods of time.

Pain fellowship is difficult for psychiatry as they are not the number 1 choice. Difficult is not impossible.. as a matter of fact most pain medicine physicians want psychiatric back up for their tough cases.
