Price of Uniforms for COT

How much do you need to save up for the uniforms and gear before COT? Does the Air Force pay for any of it? Thanks!

My understanding is that they deposit an additional $600 for you to purchase uniforms prior to attending COT. When you purchase them is up to you.

I was given 400 when I attended COT in 2009. I think my total expenses for uniforms was about 800.

I commissioned in December for a 3 year AF which will kick in this August. Two weeks ago they deposited $400 for "uniform allotment" which I was told was the only one we will receive.
