It will be my second round of applications this year and I am going to reapply to the 2 schools I applied to last year, as well as to about 8 new schools. For the 2 schools that I am reapplying to, how much do I need to change my personal statement? Should it be totally new or should I just update it with the new research experience that I have gotten recently? I'm not sure if it should be totally revamped, because my reasons for wanting to go to grad school remain the same, as do my research interests.
Oh, and if it matters, last round I got an interview at one of the 2 schools but wasn't accepted because the advisor wasn't taking students.
