Just curious if anyone was ever asked how they did on the peds shelf exam while applying/interviewing for peds residencies. . . mostly wondering out of curiosity

Cameron said:Nope - no mention of it. Actually, our pediatric exam was an in-house exam so I never took the peds shelf exam.

I honestly have no idea what it was (I took it in early '99 and just interviewed last winter - I'm MD/PhD). HOWEVER, I *think* that it may have been listed in my Dean's letter. I know my surgery shelf was.

It was still a good score and enough to earn honors in the rotation, but I would like to think that I am most competant in the field in which I plan to practice. I am curious if programs will see the shelf score in peds being my lowest and raise some concerns when they rank me.
