Anyone know if there is a good place to swim (swimming pool) by the school? I don't believe there is one at the school.
I have two quick things to say - first a word of advice: to all of you out there getting your titers for school.....make sure they are QUANTITATIVE not qualitative. Many of my classmates have had to have their titers redrawn to enter the hospitals this coming June. Go ahead and have them done quantitatively otherwise you may have to have them redrawn (and pay for them again) in two years. Maybe they have corrected this with your class's information, but if they haven't please spread the word!
Secondly, about Dr. Rogers.......and I really would like to refrain from starting a lengthy discussion about this because the investigation is ongoing, however, as a student on campus it's hard to believe that something like this is true. It seems very suspicious that a man of his education status would be stupid enough to look at something like that on a work computer and then turn it over to have it looked at by anyone - let alone the school. All the guys out there (educated or not) probably KNOW that porn (whatever the kind) doesn't disappear off your computer after you close the webpage. I have a hard time believing that he would actually turn the slow running computer over to someone from the school with something like that on it. Plus he was the main person setting up the eventual computer based testing on campus, so he had to have at least a rudimentary knowledge of computers. I know that everyone that is charged with something like this says this, but here's his response to the charges

I hope this all gets cleared up and honestly that it doesn't get any more media attention than this. The last thing we need is media attention like this to put our school's name on the radar. good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back!
any news from those waiting to hear back? I'm REALLY mad because I just found out that the school never got my updated transcripts I sent MONTHS ago, containing this past semesters very high GPA. Buffie just emailed me last week to say they received it. I guess it's my fault for not confirming they received it, but I mentioned it in the interview and the interviewers just nodded their heads as if they had already seen it. Just hoping for some good news at this point...
That sux man, sorry. At least you do know that they have seen it recently and maybe after looking at your new transcript, you will get some more attention. Don't be afraid to call and check up on your status though. Remember that the squeaky wheel gets the oil and it may just help show them how much you want it. Good luck.
Mine turned out to be a form to be put on the Alternate List (which I sent off today). I don't know what happens at this point really, except waiting.
Might as well start on this next application cycle.
I'm getting the impression that not many people opted out at the $2000 deadline, and that the class is very close to full, if not completely full.
As far as the titers go.....just get revacinated if you cant prove it otherwise. Most often insurance companies will view titers as extra and you can get hit with 300dollar bills (been there) to prove that you had the chicken pox. And if you to to the health dept many vaccines can be obtained even cheaper than paying to go see your doc.I have two quick things to say - first a word of advice: to all of you out there getting your titers for school.....make sure they are QUANTITATIVE not qualitative. There is a very nice pool center about 8 minutes from your campus...its at the intersection of Collins Hill and Taylor road...where Collins Hill high school is. The center entrance is on Collins Hill.Anyone know if there is a good place to swim (swimming pool) by the school? I don't believe there is one at the school.
They won't give you any money until the first week of school, or thereabouts.
Finally got in contact (seems I had to use a specific contact). Needless to say, the alternate list is not ranked. Also the percentage that do get in off the waiting list is pegged at (or around) 20%. Good luck to all and God willing we shall get in.
Thanks for posting this information! I've been wondering about the alternate list. It seemed that there are quite a few of us on it. With a class size of around 80 and 20% acceptance on the wait list, perhaps the list isn't so big after all. Good luck to all waiting for the word!
I got my actual award letter in the mail today. It was anticlimactic. I was hoping for a check for $61,000, but its just a letter.
You can start the process from your bank's website.
