I read the big thread about Philippine Med Schools and I am really considering them for backup schools if I can't get accepted here in the US. I figure I can try to apply to all the schools here is VA while applying to UST, UERM and FEU.

My question is how did you foreign(American) students finance your med school education in the Philippines? The closest things I have found on the internet are:

http://www.internationalstudentloan.com/us_student/enrolled_foreign/
http://www.iefc.com/

How did you guys do it? Thanks for any info.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

i thinK UERM just got approved for some US loans, you might wanna call them up but do not send an email cos it's unlikely you'll get a reply anytime soon.
i think fatima has also been approved for US loans.

Depending on the school you go to, you might be eligible for the Stafford loan. It depends on whether the school is approved by the US government.

some of my friends funded themselves this way for their first 2 years, but then our school failed to renew their eligibility.

Not too bad, if I can get $2-3K off with a loan or award and/or at least split the donation over all 4 years instead of paying it up front I don't think it will be that bad paying for med school there.

Thanks for the info guys.
