Hello all,

I will be applying for residency this year, and I'm wondering how the previous residency candidates manage to go to all the out-of-state interviews while on APPEs. What strategies or approaches have saved you the most time, money, travel, and headaches?

Thanks!

My number one advice would be get the January-February block off from APPE if possible.

Second word of advice: only apply to places you TRULY are interested in and have a shot at. Saves you time/money/headaches.

Assume every site you apply to will extend an interview to you.

If you need to fly to these sites, expect to be paying a premium price for a ticket since some sites may only give you a 2-3 week notice.
