It's been a few years since I've seen a thread about this, so I figured this was fair game.
In my subspecialty we relatively infrequently need an otoscope, but when we need one it can be a pain to find one at my place. So I like to have my own (and as I'm sure many of you know, it's handy to have at home). My old one which I got at the end of residency has a dying bulb, and it seems like the whole model has been discontinued--so it's time for me to get a new one. Any suggestions for a relatively inexpensive otoscope that is easy to carry? I'm hoping to use some professional funds for this, but of course the cheaper I can get (while still getting the job done) the less closely anyone is going to likely scrutinize the purchase.
