OMFS research fellowship at Cook County Health

This one-year research position is designed for applicants interested in strengthening their research background and applying to oral & maxillofacial surgery training.

The fellowship is jointly hosted by the departments of trauma surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery. This one year program consists of a didactic curriculum in research methodology and Biostatistics and one on one mentorship. Fellows will be expected to publish 4-10 peer reviewed publications during their fellowship year.

The research position is a non-paid position. Time commitment is 30 hours per week, with the remainder of the time to be used at the discretion of the fellow for outside employment or studying for the NBME CBSE examination.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens and a have a DDS or DMD degree from a CODA accredited dental school. Applicants are encouraged to obtain a dental license in the state of Illinois for possible outside employment.

Candidates that have already taken the CBSE examination, completed an oral & maxillofacial surgery internship, and have a history of prior scholarly work will be given preference.
