anybody heared from oklahoma or houston yet?
Adding Carle 11/6, 11/10, 11/20
This program better be as good as Nacho Libre said or I am going to be pissed. It is expensive as hell to fly into this TOWN.
Ya shoulda saddled up a burro instead of flown.... much cheaper and so much more "apropo" for the experience... the presentation of the program and half the interviews are in Spanish Nice to see you've been practicing Everyone in my program is either bi or tri lingual vs. some of the other things I've been seeing on SDN which makes it look like some programs the residents are bi or tri sexual.....
I noticed you all have an intern. This is a serious question; is your program a "feeder" program. In short, is the first year spot the interns to lose?
I can't wait to hear my boy esclavo's explanation of how carle is definitely not a "feeder" program.
Please add Cook County Hospital by mail
Dates: 11/21, 11/28, 12/5
Does anyone know about Cook County. I would like to visist, but I am running out of time and money. I had everything booked and set for all my interviews, and then I got a letter today from Cook.
Any advice would be appreciated...
I'm booking my flights to go to my interviews but I dont know if I should plan on having diner with the residents before or after. For some programs the secretary told me when they usually take the applicants out, but others they didnt have a clue. I know there's been some posts on that in the past but maybe someone here can give me a idea on what to do...
Also, how many interviews should one go to in order to "guarantee" a spot in one of the programs. I know its impossible to guarantee a spot, and I've also heard that 7 is the magic number. But theres only so many you can attend without deferring all your exams and missing out on your clinical requirements. Personnally I would like to go to all my interviews, but I know that my dental school can be very anal sometimes about quotas, so I'd rather they let me graduate even if that would mean missing a couple of interviews.
Thanx in advance,

I think you put yourself at a serious disadvantage if you miss out on the reception. As someone mentioned, this is your time to find the real "dirt" about the program and also a good time to see if you mesh well with the residents (they are probably doing the same thing). Plus you get free food and alcohol and it's actually a pretty fun time.
