The only useful thing this thread provides is caution to those whose lists are top heavy or who are overestimating their competitiveness.

I've seen you give feedback on these WAMC threads for a few years now and you're blunt which is good for this kinda thing. I posted a while ago and only really had one response, I would love to hear what you think
DO student from one of the older schools
Step 1: 230, COMLEX 1: 520
Step 2/COMLEX 2 : Pending
Class rank: Lower half
M3: Honors cardiology elective, Honors Pulm/CC elective, HP on IM1, P on IM2, (yeah I did lots of IM third year)....pass on the rest
ECs: Volunteered at schools clinic, youth child worker for safe houses, editor/writer of a health book (did this with a cardiologist and some other students), some other small stuff
Research: None, might have my name on a case study from the past spring.
LOR: One strong letter from a cardiologist (I feel like he's big name, trained at a big name university and associated with its medical school now), One decent letter from a Nephrologist I worked with in an academic program I'm interest in (she's the Nephro fellowship PD), one from outpatient FM physician, my schools IM department chair letter. Might be able to get one from an ICU department chair, I rotated there last year and he offered to write me one, but I never followed up. Doing an away at an academic program in 2 weeks, might ask for a letter but not sure if its too late (rotation ends mid October).
Goal: I would prefer to do something like CC/pulm but nephrology interests me as well. I would also do a 1 year fellowship.
Reach programs: OSU, Dartmouth, U Iowa, U Arkansas, Mayo (Florida), UPMC Mercy, U Cincinnati , Montefiore, Georgetown, NSLIJ, UTSW, Loyola, Indiana U, UC Irvine,
Attainable?
NY: Mt Sinai (St Lukes), Mt Sinai (Beth Israel - closing?), Jacobi, SUNY upstate, Stony Brook, U Rochester, U Albany, Lenox hill, U Buffalo, Maimonides
PA: Einstein, Drexel, Geisinger, Penn State Hershey
Midwest: Cleveland Clinic (also applying CC Florida), Metrohealth, Northshore, Advocate Lutheran (Chicago), Rosalind Franlink, MCW, St Louis Uni, UKMC, U Missouri - Columbia, Wayne State, Henry Ford, Creighton, U Minnesota,
Northeast: Baystate tufts, U Vermont, U Conn, U Mass
Other: U Nevada, U New Mexico, George Washington, Medstar Washington hospital, U Arizona, Loma Linda,
Safety: 30ish Community programs I found
Am I overestimating my competitiveness? Are some of those attainable programs actually reaches for me? Feedback from anyone else greatly appreciated as well. Thank you
