Then why are they even posting here? And frankly i wouldn’t help them out if they are not willing to be forthcoming hereI think people have stopped posting their interview invites. Many of the above posters are posting about interview changes however they haven’t listed the programs. There was another deleted post by one person who asked to message them to know their invites.
It’s unfortunate that even on anonymous threads people don’t feel comfortable enough to post their interview invites.
Like you...you haven’t contributed to the thread...why should anyone help you out when you aren’t giving back?Hi everyone,
Anyone with a Northwell interview on 9.23 that can switch with me for 9.27? Send me a DM.
Interviews should make that clear but even the websites should give you some idea. If the faculty aren’t publishing a lot, safe to assume research isn’t the priority. It’s it’s a big name place or a 3 year program, research is going to be important. How to know which program is research-based vs clinical based?
Haven't heard from both!anyone hear from mount sinai or LIJ yet?
I don’t know what that is, but at the bottom of this it says noIs California state still requiring PTAL for fellowship?

Does anyone know the total number of interviews that increases likelihood of matching? Thanks!
I have been hearing 10 interviews is a good number. There is no magic number because you always hear stories of people matching with 3 interviews and people who don't match with 15 interviews. It all depends on you as an applicant and whether or not the programs like you.Does anyone know the total number of interviews that increases likelihood of matching? Thanks!

Thanks everyone for the responses. Anyone start interviews yet?Would be interested to know what they are like. If there are any fellows that can provide advice about interviewing, please chime in ;-)
Hi everyone! I went through the match cycle last year and am 2 months into A/I fellowship. I'll keep things relatively vague but overall A/I interviews are not high stress at all - They will be mostly interested in why you want to go into A/I (I got the impression that emphasizing lifestyle was frowned upon) and they will want to know details about your research project(s). The biggest piece of advise I have is to try to get an idea of what your career focus will be - Most places are either 1) immunology heavy vs allergy/asthma heavy or 2) IM heavy or peds heavy. Programs are very small so the focus of each program will be very different. This may help you narrow down the 10-15 places you choose to interview with. For example, I am IM trained and had limited time off for interviews, so I decided against interviewing at places that were peds/immunodeficiency heavy because I knew that would not be my focus. Hope this helps - Feel free to private message me with specific questions and I will try my best to be of assistance!

How is everyone getting time off for all of these interviews? (to contribute to the # discussion, I decided on 10 based on recommendations of anywhere from 8 to 16) I feel like I am doing a crazy jigsaw puzzle with flights, coverage, squeezing 4-6 interviews into an elective block, etc. At one point I had a plan to go to 4 in one week, but decided it was too crazy.
Hi all!
I just hopped on this so I wanted to add one more. NY morgan Stanley on 8/2. I applied last year as well and it is def slower this year. I had heard from Nih on the 2nd day and looks like this year there was a delay (but I didn’t hear from them this year unfortunately). I am also non traditional 6 years out and have been in the peds ER since residency. Best of luck to everyone!
Hi. I didn’t but I am limited geographically so only interviewed at 2 places and ranked one. If you have the flexibility to go anywhere I would try and interview at any place you feel you would actually move. It is competitive but if you have more flexibility I think you will fine! You didnt match last year? How many interviews did you go last year? I am kinda scared to decline interview invites.
Thank you so much for the response. It is good to know that interviewers seem to focus on research projects and our actual desire to go into the field vs. scores and rankings. On your interview trail, did you have interviews that included many interviewers? And was that ok?
