Obamacare is a Complete Failure

Remember how everyone also obsessed over passing perfect laws when Bush was in office? Remember how Democrats wasted millions of dollars trying to repeal Medicare Part D and how Nancy Pelosi said getting better drug coverage will turn this country into a nation of cocaine addicts? Finally, remember how everyone obsessed about the the "real unemployment rate" unicorn when Bush was in office?

Insured in no way equals accessible care.

I mean, I could keep posting for days. These aren't sensationalist articles. Premiums are increasing, and those who have coverage are able to see far less providers than before. The market is consolidating, and premiums will likely increase if certain future mergers are approved. Having insurance and having quality insurance are two totally separate things. With sky-high deductibles and tiny provider panels, many poor people with Obamacare plans may as well have no coverage at all, as their coverage is hard to use and the deductibles alone would bankrupt them.

should go back to the good ol days where blacks and mexicans had their own healthcare system (eg none).

america was right back then.

Our healthcare system was a mess before the ACA and it is still a mess after the ACA... One can argue it's even messier now.

@Mad Jack I agree, but I am not sure that the GOP is that invested in solving the access to healthcare mess...
I'm not arguing this on a partisan basis. Failure is failure. I don't care what party fixes things, but ObamaCare has essentially been a wash- it has diluted the quality of care while spreading it to more people and cost the country more than ever while giving people fewer healthcare options than ever. It is losing all around.

Not arguing it as a repub vs dem either... But we have a 2-party system; one recognizes it is a problem and the other argues that the system is ok the way it is... how it is supposed to get fixed?

Kind of like how the left was destroying Bush over the national debt, but are eerily silent now? I'm still waiting on you to make a point.

I don't think the GOP would argue that the system is okay, they just see that the dems had a solution (which had a ridiculous amount of problems) and have decided to focus on bashing them instead of creating a legitimate solution (which they probably couldn't do anyway).

To be honest, I think the 2-party system is the core of many of this country's political problems. I'm always surprised by how many people are naive enough to believe that either party actually gives a sh** about the people. Maybe if a third party, or dare I say fourth, were to gain some leverage we'd see politicians actually start working together and representing their constituents instead of their parties and the lobbyists who bankroll their campaigns. Then again, that's probably just naive and wishful thinking on my part.

One underrated part about the ACA is that it increased the age young adults could remain on their parent's insurance to 26.

This helps me tremendously. The health insurance my school offers is $2,100 a year. Being able to stay on my parents' health insurance plan saves me a lot of money. There are parts of the ACA that people don't talk about as much that make a lot of good sense.
