Montefiore is the main teaching hospital for Einstein. It is your typical old school Bronx hospital (aesthetically). Interview was nice, though very long....long!! Big powepoint presentation by the PD, explaining complete history of the hospital. PD seemed very nice though, and made herself available during the day. Interview day was not as organized as other places (confusion as to who interviewed and who toured yet; some interviewers were rushed due to disorganization). Residents seemed pretty happy, though kept reminding us that it isn't a "cush" program. But, they were very boastful about the fellowships they get (though there was no actual data provided). Extremely diverse patient population; they have a very unique call system; you'd have to go to the interview, or ask a resident for a run-down on that, because most of us were confused! Something like you come in, round and finish your work, then go home...then you come in again later around midnight and do the overnight. Unique, and the residents claim it works well. Social medicine track for those interested, and housing in the Bronx.
