I'm an M4, and I created a non-profit website, medbeds.altervista.org, to help pre-meds, med students, and residents find cheap, easy places to stay with other students for interviews and away rotations.
Instead of staying at a hotel, find a cheap place on the website and stay with another student who lives near the hospital, knows where to go, and even might know your interviewers. Also, consider listing your extra room, air mattress, or couch and make some money while meeting new people.
