Ask for an extension with the CI. Be more confident. Know your stuff.

Aside from that, have you set weekly goals with your CI? Have you asked for feedback on where he thinks you should be?

OP - some CIs are just d!ckheads and seem to get a kick in finding fault with everything. I had one like that and hope we will never cross paths again. Because if we do, I will go to jail for assault.

But like Azi said, agree on some goals with the guy and have regular feedback sessions. Hang in there, the end is in sight.
