JSQUARED, could we bold the ones who were new graduates out of dental school?

Anyone with ENS in front of their name. Maybe the OCC or OC1 also, but I don't know for sure.

OCC=Officer Candidate "Chief Petty Officer"/E-7 for pay purposes only
OC1=Officer Candidate "Petty Officer First Class"/E-6

Those people are in the HSCP program...

Also, these ENSs and OCs will be graduating next May or whatever to go for straight-through residency training--so, technically, they are not new graduates, yet.

You are correct. OCC's Walter Thames and Geoff McMurray are friends of mine. They will graduate in May 2010 and start up the residency right after ODS.

Interesting that a lot of HSCP students showed up on the list. I don't remember a year when so many, if any were on the list.

Also, it seems like Ortho, Endo, Pedo, and OMFS went to some junior officers.

Someone must think this is going to retain LT's until they realize everyone will get out after their payback, then they will be short again.

Does anyone has(knows) actual numbers of how many people applied for each specialty training?

I am one of those OCC'ers. I don't know but maybe the thought process is that once the HSCP student gets done with Residency and payback they will be over 12 years and will be more likely to stay in for 20. Just a guess cause that is probably what I will do, but then again I owe 9 after graduation so I will have 16 in before I complete payback. Kind of a no brainer at that point.
