Will I be missing out on much if I cannot work with mice for cancer research?

I may be allergic to mice, will I be missing out on much in biomedical research, particular cancer?

I don't know a lot about cancer research.

Are you very allergic? Is there any other possibilities for you?

If you absolutely want to do cancer research, the field is big.

What about using latex and nitrile?

What kind of allergic reaction do you get from mice?

I'm allergic to a lot of things, but thankfully not C57BL6 !
Even so, I wouldn't dream of putting my human up against bare mouse

It will limit the research you can do in the field, yes, but there are plenty of other options. You can still work with cell lines, cultures, and mouse "products" (tissues, blood, etc.). Usually the urine, saliva, and skin/fur are the major antigenic substances from mice, so as long as you don't contact any live or intact animals, you should be okay. You should be wearing PPE anyway to protect you from what you're working with, regardless of the source.
