The Mayo Clinic Department of Orthopedic Surgery and the Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Center invite senior medical students or graduates to apply for a one-year clinical research fellowship position in Orthopedic Sports Medicine.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a highly-motivated individual to strengthen their application for the Orthopedic Residency Match. The research fellow will be expected to work on numerous projects with several investigators; therefore, excellent organizational and communication skills are paramount. Duties include project design, Institutional Review Board applications, scientific literature search, data collection, progress updates and manuscript preparation.
You will have the opportunity to work with five board-certified sports medicine orthopedic surgeons. Our previous fellows have been prolific, with multiple manuscripts accepted or in consideration for publication and numerous abstracts accepted for presentation at national/international meetings.

Please contact our current fellow Jed May ([email protected]) with any questions. You may also refer to the Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Center website for further information on the facility: http://www.mayoclinic.org/sportsmedcenter-rst/

To apply, email (preferred) or fax your CV, two letters of recommendation, personal statement, picture, USMLE scores, and a very brief statement of interest to our current fellow Jed May’s attention at 507-266-4234.

We wish you success in this year's match!

Sincerely,

Michael J. Stuart, MD
Professor, Mayo College of Medicine

Vice-Chairman, Department of Orthopedic Surgery

Co-director, Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine Center
