For the young comp ophthalmologists: Have you felt the need to go back for a dedicated refractive fellowship or have you felt comfortable learning LASIK/PRK on your own through conferences, etc.

The best way to learn is through your first job with a mentor who is already doing refractive surgery. I wouldn't waste a year's worth of income learning how to do LASIK. It's not that hard and you won't do that much at most fellowships. You won't learn the mechanics of doing LASIK at conferences. Just find a mentor and ask him or her to teach you.
