Just want to see if anyone has any information on Langley AFB. Just got word that’s likely where I will be heading after I finish up fellowship training in MIS/Bariatric surgery.

Langley has fellowships? Sweet Jesus. Last time I dealt with that hospital, their ER was a glorified urgent care and the hospital barely took admissions (transferred most things out).
I am completing a civilian fellowship. So I will be fellowship trained prior to starting there.
NMCP Does a reasonable amount of bariatric surgeries. Would definitely trying to get credentialed there. I know several surgeons already do this.
Thinking about it, the Tidewater market it supposedly fairly integrated. The AF may be sending you to Langley and anticipating you'll spend a decent amount of time over with the Navy.
Yeah, working at NMCP is a struggle. ERCP capability is definitely hit or miss. Don't have cath lab coverage outside of business hours (luckily Scary View and Norfolk General are a few minutes away). Still transfer most CT surgery cases. Even some vascular surgery cases that aren't straight forward. It's been a few years, but when I left Portsmouth, it was deader than a doornail. The wards were empty, the surgical cases minimal, and the outpatient lobbies were ghost towns. We had to transfer CT surgical cases, oftentimes we didn't have IR or ERCP capabilities. Even simple medicine things were a challenge.
So don't expect much from NMCP.
Moonlight. Hell, maybe even daylight. Make your own 'civilian partnership'.
