This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

But but....thats not possible and unbalanced...because with all the things you do outside of work cant possibly allow you to get good grades

I don't have too much leadership though. One national committee, one local representative position, and just a couple in house committees. Nothing legendary. I don't have a poster at midyear or anything. I like to teach and I get a lot of that with PhD stuff. I mentor a lot of underclassmen but nothing official. I do have plenty of research stuff going on. I like quality improvement, patient reported outcomes, and that sort of thing. I'll probably do posters at ISPOR and in other orgs that aren't as "clinical".

I'm not sure any of that is viewed as favorably as being president of various clubs though when it comes to residencies. PharmB has done some pretty cool stuff. I look up to him.

I gots straight A's in therapeutics....

I was actually going to message you as I thought my study was stuck in IRB limbo and I was going to throw together a pharmacoeconomic analysis on stribild as it would be new, relevant, quick (not great but good enough for a student poster) and circumvent the whole IRB approved problem. I was going to try to throw it together in a week and a half, have you proof a bit, offer you second author :p, and then submit before Oct 1st. Luckily my first project finally came through

glad your stuff came through! I'm always happy to proofread should you need it in the future. I just got a project handed to me and they want a quick turnaround. Fortunately I love the topic so I'll bust out an article. Maybe I can have you proof it. :D

Shows how little you know.

I know all I need to know about the People's Republic of Kalifornia.

Broke, liberal, tree hugging idiots.

http://townhall.com/columnists/davidmalcolm/2012/03/01/whats_the_matter_with_california_everything/page/full/

California where only Prius driving, green loving, high earners (limousine liberals, tech titans, and Democratic politicians) and those on the dole (state employees, immigrants, food stamp/EBT recipients), will survive long-term.

You still believe earth is flat...

So Austin is conservative eh???

Trust me....my area is more conservative than DFW.

Mine ia even worse :(

The earth isn't flat?!?!? The earth is pretty flat where I come from.

Austin is a poor example...all college towns are liberal havens in the sea of conservatism.

All I know about Kalifornia I learned form 2Pac and Dr. Dre....Yeah Dawg!

Oh yeah Dawg sing along yo!!!!

Now let me welcome everybody to the wild, wild west
A state that's untouchable like Elliot Ness
The track hits ya eardrum like a slug to ya chest
Pack a vest for your Jimmy in the city of sex
We in that sunshine state where that bomb ass hemp be
The state where ya never find a dance floor empty
And pimps be on a mission for them greens
Lean mean money-makin-machines servin fiends
I been in the game for ten years makin rap tunes
Ever since honeys was wearin sassoon
Now it's '95 and they clock me and watch me
Diamonds shinin lookin like I robbed Liberace
It's all good, from Diego to tha Bay
Your city is tha bomb if your city makin pay
Throw up a finger if ya feel the same way
Dre puttin it down for
Californ-I-a.......

Out on bail fresh outta jail, California dreamin
Soon as I stepped on the scene, I'm hearin hoochies screamin
Fiendin for money and alcohol
The life of a west side playa where cowards die and it's all ball
Only in Cali where we riot not rally to live and die
In L.A. we wearin Chucks not Ballies (that's right)
Dressed in Locs and khaki suits and ride is what we do
Flossin but have caution we collide with other crews
Famous cause we program worldwide
Let'em recognize from Long Beach to Rosecrans
Bumpin and grindin like a slow jam, it's west side
So you know the row won't bow down to no man
Say what you say
But give me that bomb beat from Dre
Let me serenade the streets of L.A.
From Oakland to Sacktown
The Bay Area and back down
Cali is where they put they mack down
Give me love!

I love my job at a tiny chain retail pharmacy called Pharmaca. Before I joined up a few years ago, I had hated chain store retail pharmacy for all its micromanagement, metrics and lack of professional environment. Pharmacists who work in most retail jobs for extended years tend to develop personality disorders. I saw it as a student in my preceptors who seemed to be affected by some sort of Aspberger's.

I love working this place; our customers are wealthier and even more entitled in their behavior, but I work with an awesome staff and our model of combining allopathic and naturopathic approaches to treatment makes it something of a niche in retail and instead of grossly underpaid general store staff working along with you, you actually work with other licecnsed practitioners at Pharmaca like Naturopathic Doctors, Herbalists, Accupuncturists and even Estheticians. How cool is that!?
