is there a specialty to be a professor?

after i graduate from dental school eventually i wanna stay at a school/hospital and teach. Would I have to get a masters/PHD after dental school if i dont take the DMD/PHD route? What do I need to specialize in?

To teach didactic courses you would need to get your PhD but if you just want to be on faculty to teach in the sim lab doing clinical skills you just need to finish dental school. I know a lot of new dentists who have gone back to their schools and teach hand skills 1-2 times a week
