Just curious to see if those people who got invites at GW had sent in that supplemental essay that is requested in fine print at the bottom of their webpage. Just wanted to know if I wasted my time with that or if they actually only considered people who wrote that extra essay...

:bullcrap:Knowing about that extra essay "requirement" would have been helpful about a month ago...oh well.

I don't know that there's a general tendency for this. I think it all depends on what the schedule is for the program director and chair, as well as how late the ranklists are due.

not that i got one, but they sent out emails yesterday. dec 10, 11 are the available dates.
 
So apparently Columbia offered more invites to interview than they have interview spots, and my reply (1 hour after email was sent) was too late. No more spots left for any of the dates or times.

Is anyone planning to cancel? Please???

talked with georgetown program, they have sent all the invites and there is no waitlist. So i guess if you didn't receive an interview offer, you are essentially rejected :(

wouldnt think anything of it, except tha I was already offered an interview but couldnt take it due to conflicting dates :)

Same exact thing happened to my friend with Duke. I guess technically since you didn't attend your interview, you have no chance of getting in. Still, pretty lazy on their part.

Although now that I think about it, did the rejection letter say "we cannot offer you an interview at this time?" or was it a more generic "we won't be considering your application for 2009?". If it is the former, that is pretty funny. :)

i guess i shoulda been a bit more clear because it was funny since they said they couldnt offer me an interview :)
