Matrix Providers issearching for a Registered Dietitian to work at the Health and Wellness Clinicat Randolph AFB, TX (located 15 miles from San Antonio). This is a 2 year contracted position.
Hours are Monday throughFriday from 7:30A-4:30P.
The Dietitian strengthenshuman performance and total force readiness by providing nutrition awareness,education and intervention programs while promoting a nutrition environment thatfacilitates healthy eating behaviors targeted at Air Force (AF) members andtheir families, and as mission allows other beneficiaries.
Is Responsible forplanning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating all Health Promotion (HP)nutrition-related prevention programs and services IAW Air Force instructions,guidelines, and population needs.
Administers nutritionassessment, prescriptions, counseling, comprehensive nutrition preventionprograms, and various other health and nutrition programs/activities that meetAF HP healthy weight and nutrition goals and the needs of the installation community.
Serves as the nutritionconsultant to the Director Base Medical Service and the Air Force community andits agencies.
Coordinates with HP staffto deliver programs in a variety of community settings to include individualunit worksites, community facilities, and the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
Qualifications:
Completion of a bachelorsdegree from an accredited college or university in an
educational program fordietetics approved by the Commission on Accreditation for
Dietetics Education of theAmerican Dietetic Association (ADA).
Current registration bythe Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) through the
ADA. Must maintaincurrency through continuing education in dietetics and nutrition in compliance with the CDR ofthe ADA requirements.
Must be successfullygranted provider privileges by the Credentials Office and maintain privileges.
Must be a Board EligibleCertified Specialist in Sports Dietetics by the ADA.
Possesses three (3) yearsof experience in wellness, sports nutrition or nutrition education.
Must be able to use basiccomputer applications for word processing, record keeping,
presentations, andnutrition assessment (e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel,
Project, and Outlook.).
Should be a role model inweight, fitness, and other healthy lifestyle behaviors.
Current BLS card.
