hey, just wanted to say about bringing up children in US -
I was born here and so did my daughter..
my parents taught me to respect other cultures, food, religions.. we always had different people at our house visiting, etc. so when i grew up i had friends from different countries,e tc but i also grew strong in my faith and culture. now people who just come from india are surprised that i am the way i am. they think that i'm more indian than them!! and can't figure out why... but this is my choice..
not all of american culture is bad just as not all of indian culture is good. i know i'm over simplyfying.. but my parents taught me the differences and to respect different people and i hope to instill the same in my daughter.
i have worn sarees and churidars to parties... some people appreciate the clothes some don't... i don't waste time with those who don't...
i do educate the ones who are interested. i have friends who are christian, hindu, muslim and jain. from india and from other countries. hopefully i will be able to teach my daughter as my parents did.. if i can do half the job they did with me,,, i'll be happy.
funny isn't it, in learning to appreciate the differences, i have become stronger in my own identity and faith...
sorry to ramble on but hope this helps someone...
my husband is directly from india and he is learning to open up more well... he sort of has to being married to a 'out there' woman like me

hey.... just to let you know - i grew up in india(for 17 years!!)! so i know the culture very well thankyou... you seem to forget that there are all kinds of people in india just as there are in any other country. i just meant that his family is not very open - mostly because they haven't been exposed to other cultures and as such he was surprised to see me with friends from other countries - very good friends whom i trust to this day.
so you see i do know about people who live india, their choices, their wishes , their dreams, hopes, etc..... and i know a whole lot more about my own family..... so don't be so quick to judge

I am not sure whether it is appropriate to write my personal feelings in an internet forum read by thousands of anonymous good and bad people. I have hardly written letters to anyone in my life. I have written a couple of letters to my dad who lives in india. My dad replied to my letters by marking the grammatical mistakes i committed in my letters to him ( in red ink) and wrote how sad he felt after reading my letter with gross grammar mistakes. I stopped writing any letter to him after that insulting letter from him.

I have thought abt hundred times before posting this letter. Some evil force like tsunami is pushing me hard to write this message to you. Some people like Dr.badvibes might critizise my honest feelings and dismiss this letter as a loser script. Peeping toms like parasite and nimesh read this letter like a pornographic story. wingy could just pass my letter as a routine shi$ by NYer.

aarti... i just want to tell you one thing. I dont care about anyone in SDN except you. People dont understand real love. People made fun of my real life story. That is the reason i did not show up here. They all think that it is impossible to fall in love with someone in the internet forum after seeing just a couple of photographs. If human love is a sin world would be filled with billions of criminals. I dont even think having sex with an anonymous person you dearly love is a sin. skin to skin there is no sin, brother.

I know i have not yet impressed aarti because i am no bollywood star. I cannot dance or sing. I cannot do sweet talk like some american gigolos. I am a simple NYer not a Donald Trump to buy a woman whom i purely love to the bottom of my heart for the past few days. In this 21 st century just cannot sell love to a pretty woman. you need a big bank if u wanna a stunner like aartiii. However, i believe in my 150% pure desi love package. I dont have anything except love to offer her.

well, comparing aarti to monalisa is like comparing Newyorker with Romeo. I think aarti's picture is more beautiful than monalisa. monalisa did not have guts to show her teeth though. It was a dressed up smile..aarti's smile is a naked smile with utter confidence.i simply love it.
I did not fall in love with Monalisa eventhough millions of other people did.

I really dont have a clue about my new screwed up attitude man. I am writing sumthing emotionally and then feeling very embarrased about my post so.i delete it. Are u talking abt my yesterdays blame it on parasite post? that was a very bad post brother. I cant blame on parasite for everything happened on this thread. I also take some responsiblity. I understand parasite is going to medschool in romania and her state chief minister in india is lallo prasad yadav. he is a screwed up guy like me. It is a lot of stress for a single girl to study in europe. so i am okay with parasite.

I need treatment man! I guess aarti is my doctor. She has the drugs to cure me. I dunno when she gonna open her pharmacy? brutha...i have forgotten basic medical sciences. forgive me for any micrbiological mistakes.
