ibs and omt

how effective is omt for ibs? i was reading "osteo considerations in systemic dysfunction" and there are many techniques listed. However, one do is spoke to said that the meds are much more effective. is this true? cause i was under the impression that ibs is not well controlled with meds.
any thoughts?
