I am applying for this may 2024. I am 23 y.o; I had an IA in my senior year of college in 2023. That semester was challenging as my fathers declined and I was his home health aide. I had to commute back and fourth resulting in me making the poor decision. I have since been trying to redeem myself but the clinical informatics specialist/medical scribe position I am working for is really not a good fit for me. I have 560 hours working 45 hours a week in 3 months. It is my most recent and meaningful experience but I feel I got all I wanted from the job, physician LOR + shadowing + most meaningful experience. I have concerns, with all the things wrong with my application, that quitting will make me look bad. But I do need to get my nonclinical volunteering up to in my application so will it be too bad of a decision if I focused on getting my nonclinical volunteering and hospice twice a week up until may what else should i do?

Institutional Action Write Up (over word limit):
During December 2022, my first semester of senior year, an uncharacteristic aberration occurred in one course. I wound up relying too heavily on a colleague's lab report, implying it was my own—an action I now recognize as unacceptable. Contributing to this lapse in judgment was the heightened stress stemming from my father's hospitalization, which necessitated my transition into the role of his home health aide, alongside increased family responsibilities. I regret not asking for an extension instead. Asking for help before it is too late is a lesson I have carried in my professional and personal life. Prior to this incident, I consistently upheld academic integrity. Knowing what I did was wrong, I plead guilty to the subsequent student conduct investigation that resulted in significant consequences, including a 0 for the lab report and a final course letter grade reduction. Since, I actively engaged in self-reflection and mandated integrity-related activities which expunged the case from my transcript, underlining my commitment to personal growth. Despite this I returned to baseline the next semester a testament to my resilience and continued learning. Asking for help before it is too late is a lesson I have carried in my professional and personal life.
I am no longer going to be working there, if i go through with it, on february 27. Then I will have 3 months until primary apps. I have hospice volunteering lined up which is clinical volunteering but that is 2 times a week. I am also lacking some nonclinical volunteering which I could do until may.
