How many recommendation letters?

I know it should be one professor and one optometrist, so total 2, but I stumbled somewhere that said 3 recommendation letters in total. Are 2 professors and one optometrist better than just one professor/optometrist?

Also, does it matter if the professor is from your original college vs a summer class at a community college?

Usually it is specific to the school which you are applying to. Each school can set their own requirements for LORs. Though some may be the same not all of them necessarily are. If you go on the Optomcas website they have a section for the specific LORs for each program.
