300 Bed state of the art facility in Fort Lee New Jerysey, looking for an assertive, clinically oriented pharmacist to join their outstanding team. Hospital has been the recipient of many awards in the state and is looking to continue its outstanding tradition by adding outstanding an outstanding pharmacist to their team.
Shift:
3-11:30 pm
Every third weekend.
Six week intensive training on the dayshift.
Pharmacy is open 365/7 days a year. There will be some coverage of other shifts occasionally but it is a shared responsibility among the all the staff pharmacists. Pharmacy is open 365/7 days a year.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversees and assists with unit-dose preparation.
2. Handles and orders narcotics for the hospital.
3. Maintains an adequate drug supply.
4. Coordinates the pharmacy function with the nursing service and the medical staff.
5. Inspects nursing units once a month for outdated medication.
6. Serves on the pharmacy and therapeutic committees.
7. Serves on the infection control committee.
8. Ensures that the pharmacy department has 24-hour coverage by a pharmacist.
Experience:
Hospital would prefer a pharmacist with IV experience does not necessarily have to be a hospital pharmacist. Hospital might consider new graduates with specific rotation experience. Hospital would also consider retail pharmacists with past I.V. or hospital experience as well. Must have a valid New Jersey state license.
