Hello, this question is mainly for Caribbean students in years 3 and 4 or graduates. I would like get your thoughts about how your school grades during third year core rotations.

1. How much of each rotation grade is based on attending/resident evaluation and how much is based on the shelf exam for that rotation?

2. Is there a certain minimum score you have to get on the shelf exam to pass the rotation regardless of the evaluation you get?

3. What happens if you fail the shelf exam for the rotation?

4. How often do students fail a rotation during third year? And what happens if you fail a rotation?

I would really appreciate talking to a Caribbean student about the clinical years as I'm trying to decide if I should transfer to one of the main Caribbean schools after I pass my Step 1. Please drop me a PM or email me at [email protected] if you wouldn't mind talking. Thanks.
