The GPR program at University of Hospitals and Clinics is seeking residents for the 2023-2024 year! Our program offers extensive training in the treatment of medically compromised patients; treatment of dental emergencies including pain, swelling, and trauma; and a fast-paced outpatient clinic to build your speed and skills with a variety of routine and advanced dental procedures while also gaining experience working with dental assistants. The Hospital Dentistry clinic also has an in-house dental lab technician.
We offer comprehensive implant training from the planning stage through the restoration stage, including how to use a digital workflow for implant planning and restoration, and hands-on surgical implant experience in cooperation with the Hospital Oral Surgery department. We use digital workflows for almost all our fixed prosthodontic cases (both natural tooth supported and implant supported), and for some aspects of removable prosthodontics as well. We have an Edge Endo rotary system available. This GPR provides plenty of opportunities for residents to build their extraction skills, and includes rotations in internal medicine, anesthesia, and oral surgery. The majority of time is spent in the general dentistry clinic, and residents rotate through the operating room treating dental patients with intellectual and/or physical disabilities.
