Wow the GI forum really is a little dead, seeing as we passed one deadline (Dec 1st) thought there should be a forum for this years ERAS nonsense. Anyone hear anything yet, interview requests/rejections? Cant believe we have to go through this process again....

Plus any old/already matched GI applicants with helpful insights into their programs. There is nowt on GI programs here

I think it is still early, as posted by previous years' applicants. However, I keep checking ERAS! my bad!
 
I know. I still keep checking though. Sounds like it wont be starting for a few weeks. Blast!:smack:

Application received from Kaiser, nothing exciting. It seems that GI application is not as busy as last year.
 
Long time lurker, applying for GI this year. Does anyone know if there are any places that have December 15th deadlines for the GI application? I have all my stuff in except that I have 2 letters (GI faculty) that are still undergoing EFDO processing. Look forward to sharing experiences with everyone here.
 
Duke is the one that has due date on Dec 15th. Just applied today :)
 
Looks as though interview calls have started pouring for other fellowship including cardiology!!!

That's true. Either I am not qualified or I did not apply to programs that I have to :). It seems so quiet today!
 
No GI interview calls for anyone that I know. Hopefully calls will start pouring in by Dec end.
 
It also appears that many programs have not even downloaded our applications!!!

No I suspect most programs wont download until late Dec/Jan. We still havent reached most deadlines yet. I've heard rumblings though that there have been a few communications already from programs

In my case, most of my applied programs downloaded my documents which were all uploaded on Dec 2nd. The 4th LOR was just uploaded. Another silent day, I guess. This time last year there were already a few of invitations...

I would rather get some rejections than wait like this...

I wonder if there is any news today. GI forum seems much quiet than it was last year.

Why does it seem like the interviews are coming out slower this year?

I am hoping that things begin to pick up real soon. I am growing more and more anxious as the days go by.
 
On last years forum, a running tally was kept of what programs had sent out invitations. Everyone would add to the list if they received an invite or heard of invites going out from a program. Programs would usually send invitations out in batches. Some programs did only one batch of invitations. Others would send out multiple invitations batches periodically from January-March.

So far GI interviews invites I know of are:

Duke
Ohio State University
University of Colorado
UCLA
University of Florida
University of Missouri.

Please feel free to add to my list if you know of other programs and good luck to everyone. The invitations will start up full force this month

I received a letter stating that my application is under review from the Aurora program. If I was selected, they would let me know by the end of January. It was very ambiguous. Would have preferred an interview invite.
