this post is for all the FMGS out there.
what's the point of having to get this letter now?
all FMGs have to take the USMLE Step 1 and 2 to be eligible to begin residency. i know all US MD schools require Step 1, and the majority require Step 2 for graduation.
now everyone, including US students, have to take the Step 2 CS now.
the ECFMG letter requires passing of Step 1, Step 2, Step 2 CK, and graduation from medical school. if all the requirements are uniform for everyone, this letter seems obsolete.
in my opinion, ECFMG should provide a list of approved foreign schools, and allow the students of these schools to be exempt from this stupid letter.
