Only a first year fellow here. I plan to work non-academic/non-research job in the future. Do most heme onc docs in the private practice realm recertify their IM boards every 10 years? What benefits and downsides are there to consider?

It’s not necessary, but could be helpful depending on what you are doing. Nonmalignant heme and transplant are two examples where staying on top of IM could be advantageous.
