I read somewhere that if a Canadian citizen from an international school, ie. Ireland, does their residency in the U.S on J1 visa, they need to do MCCEE. This is because the U.S wants proof that Canada is your home country for the 2 year return to home country rule, and thus for the statement of need.
Is this true?
I myself am a Canadian citizen in the UK hoping to match into residency in the States on J1 visa in 2012 match. Will I need to write the MCCEE next summer in order to get the J1 visa statement of need?
Cheers,
