Hello All,

I'm a third year at USMD program, and I will be applying for US residency. Just trying to learn more about the H1B and J1 visas.
In terms of the J1, have any of you folks gone through the process and actually returned to Canada for 2 years?
If so what did the process look like (e.g. Did you have to take exams? Is it like an additional 2 years of residency? Are you operating as an attending? What did you do afterward?).
I see lots of folks talking about the waiver, is that what most people end up doing?

Thank you!

I am planning on returning, look up the CPSO on google. They go in to details about the different pathways. It is much easier at this time to go back to Canada, you just have to be board eligible (Pathway C) or board certified (pathway A) in your American boards for the respective residency/fellowship.
