100 Bed facilities in Morris County are looking for full time pharmacist to work dayshift. Hospital is a for profit facility on a beautiful campus west of Morristown NJ.
Shift:
11:00 am-7:00pm
37.5 hour work week.
One weekend a month 9:00 am-5:00 pm.
Pharmacist will have off during the week for working weekends.
Responsibilities:
Performs all dispensing functions. Transcribes medication orders into computer. Prepares, labels, prices and dispenses individual medications in accordance with doctor's prescriptions.
Compounds and prepares ordered pharmaceutical preparations.
Contacts and confers with physicians if there are any questions or irregularities regarding medication orders.
Monitors total parental nutrition patients as required; prepares total parental nutrition solutions as necessary.
Mixes irrigating solutions and intravenous additive solutions as required, using aseptic techniques with the Laminar airflow hood.
Maintains patient profiles.
Fills and checks medication cassettes to insure accuracy.
Reviews patient charges.
Prepares medications for patients on weekend leave from the hospital.
Makes computer entries as required.
Supervises inventory levels as required.
Consults with physician and nursing staff concerning availability, form, side effects and incompatibilities of currently available drugs. Maintains drug literature source to be at disposal of medical and other professional staff.
Maintains inventory and records of narcotics.
Participates in staff, supervisory and special meetings of committees as may be required.
Keeps informed on developments and trends inside and outside the organization which relate to assigned functions. Serves as a resource to other departments for information needed. Participates in and contributes to outside professional activities or other projects.
Performs other duties as requested.
Experience:
Hospital prefers pharmacists with hospital experience but would consider pharmacists with less then 3 years of retail experience.
