Is a campus MPH degree equivalent to a distant learning MPH or is there some difference.
Does one get the same benefits and respect as the one holding a full time MPH degree?

I am not sure about MPH's specifically, however, I did attend a distance learning masters program towards a Master of Science in Psychology (general psych) and ended up eventually leaving the program because;
a.) the learning format was not a good match for me (I need to be in a classroom with more interaction)
b.) the program is still fairly new and thus professors are not as able to respond to the needs of those in the program.

If you are considering a distance or online program make sure;
- they are accredited!
- they have a history of successful and HAPPY graduates (speak to recent alums, ect)
- you know yourself and your abilities, your method of study, ect.

Distance learning has lots of advantages and disadvantages so just weigh all of that information in making your decision. Good luck!

Thanks a lot earthmuffin.
