Thanks for viewing this thread I've been accepted to 2 great DO schools and I'm a bit torn. I'm from NY and my family is here, and I've made a quick pros vs cons for both schools, but I'd love to hear from you guys!
CCOM
Pros
-located in a nice neighborhood
-great reputation (established in 1900)
-access to great rotations
-I've heard the faculty is phenomenal
-closer to home
Cons
-weather
-at least 1 exam/week
-letter grades for pre-clinical years
WesternU-Pomona
Pros
-great weather
-well known in CA
-H/P/F grading system
-exams every 3 weeks or so
Cons
-far from home
-expensive cost of living
-rotations seem to be a lot further
-the neighborhood just outside the school was a bit sketchy
I don't really know what else to factor in! I would love to hear from students who had to make a similar decision before. Both schools are quite expensive so that's not a factor as I don't have much of a choice. I would ideally to move back to NY for my residency, or somewhere close to the East Coast to be close to my family. Thanks a lot
