Hello everyone,

wondering if there are any Cdn residents on this board already to help me out with a few questions?

1. when you come out to practice, how is insurance policy and pay different between US and Canada? I'm sure that it's still an issue, I just don't know how the Cdn system handles that? As well, I'm guessing it's different if you're working in the hospital as opposed to community?

2. What are typical hours for surgery and medicine weeks? How do your call schedules work?

3. What are criteria for applicants to programs, since USMLEs exist earlier on in the US system than the MCCQE does in Canada - so how are applicants ranked then? I believe AOA is only a relatively new thing in Canada, so how else are they ranked?
