Can any one who matched ortho without any research speak to how they did so?

Based on most recent charting outcomes, it seems it's really a 50/50 split I'm assuming based on your step score whether or not you match ortho if you have 0 research. Just wondering what other people would think comes into play at that point. I mean, I assumed connections because of that one person who matched neurosurg with that abysmal score, but that is just one individual, this data has more sample size.
