Hi all, I am a first year at TUSPM and have a question regarding the board exams we take after 2nd year. Are these the equivalent of USMLE, or does podiatry have its own version of board exams? Also, how many board exams do we take in total (and when)? Are they all the same as other allopathic med students take?

Thanks in advance :)

Podiatry has its own version called the NBPME exam. There are 3 parts: basic science (end of 2nd year), medical (4th year), and surgical (residency). Part one is very similar to part one of the USMLE. Most students use the USMLE study material to study for th NBPME.
