You have it completely backwards, "conserved areas like Wisconsin" are not as well staffed like New York. You need to look at the total number of schools per state to give you a good idea of how bad the saturation is. New York has 8 schools, California has 10 or more, so you know those two states are highly competitive, say 40 applications for one opening. I think Wisconsin may only have 1 or 2, so their students won't have as much trouble finding employment as the Northeast regional
