So I will probably be getting an interview from USUHS who has 2 spots open in IHS and I was just hopeing I could hear some feedback on IHS from someone who has experience with it.
Where were you posted to and what was it like? What kind of input did you have as to your stationing? Overall how satisified are/were you?
I do like the idea of being able to stay in a place if I so choose, helps with starting a family. And the way it works with USUHS is that you finish med school, do any residency you want within a list of permited specialties then do 10 years service in the IHS.
The only drawbacks I can see would be a limitation on your specialty choices and getting stationed in someplace like OK or MT, not that I have anything against these places but I specifically am planning on the Navy because I love coastal regions.
