I just got back from an AMAZING month in Nepal. I went with a group I heard about on the internet. I later learned that that a schoolmate had gone the year before. I don't really have the space here to explain how wonderful they were. They can REALLY tailor your experience to your interests and they even set me up with home stays, ground transportation, even trekking at the end of the trip. On a whim, I mentioned my interest in visiting a leprosy hospital, two days later I was there. I have no professional tie to them, but would highly endorse Volunteer Student Support Nepal. Matrika is an amazing coordinator. The people and countryside of Nepal made an impression on me that will last forever. Once there I trekked with Blue Himalaya Trekking. I am happy to answer questions if you have any.

hey :) their website looks great! i'm at medical school in england and i'm currently looking for places to go for my elective in 2012. I'm really interested in what you did in Nepal! Did you go as part of an elective also? Thanks!

I worked in a health clinic with an OPD, a fetal-material medicine program (including L&D), a minor OT for procedures, etc. It was an amazing experience. I also visited a leprosy hospital, an orphanage, and a school. The group is great about tailoring your visit to your interests. HIGHLY recommended.
